Groundbreaking ceremony for new building
Knur has more room for innovation
Construction work on a new building for Knur began with a symbolic ground-breaking ceremony on April 13, 2018 in Wörth an der Donau in the B7 industrial park. The previous building in Regensburg no longer met the technical and spatial requirements, the subsidiary of ASS Maschinenbau announced.
In the 18th year of Knur's existence, a building with sufficient space for the production, assembly and commissioning of large and complex automation systems is now being built for Knur in Wörth an der Donau in the B7 industrial park. The Aumer Group is a partner in the project. According to the company, the new building being constructed directly on the A3 highway offers a unique opportunity to optimally adapt structures and processes to the increased requirements of customers and at the same time significantly improve working conditions for employees.
The new building covers a total of around 2,100 square meters. Of this, 1,000 square meters are for the company's own production machines and the bonding technology forum; 600 square meters on two floors for the office building and 500 square meters for the assembly and testing of automation systems for customers. The offices are fully air-conditioned and the underfloor heating throughout the building is powered by a sustainable heat pump. The spacious workstations have plenty of light and offer space and peace and quiet for the development of sophisticated, innovative technologies. The modern and flexible workstations also allow for staff expansion if required.
"For Knur," says Reinhold Ziewers, Managing Director of Knur, "the new building symbolizes a forward-looking development for the company with a focus on automation tasks, especially adhesive bonding technology. For our employees and business partners, this is a clear and positive signal for the tasks ahead."
When planning the building, Aumer not only attached great importance to good working conditions and functionality. The new building meets the functional requirements and is visually attractive at the same time. The building is scheduled for completion in November of this year. "Customers and markets are changing faster and faster," explains Ziewers, "in the new building we will be able to adapt quickly and flexibly to changes in the automotive industry and technology in the future." as
