The winning ideas come from Swissbit and the Technical University of Dresden and were selected by an independent jury from industry, research and the media from over 50 submissions. "As in previous years, the high quality of the concepts submitted this year was once again impressive," says ZVEI President Dr. Gunther Kegel. "This once again demonstrates the innovative strength and wealth of ideas in our industry. All of the nominated projects - as diverse as they are - are moving us forward on the path to digitizing complex processes safely and practically, simplifying their handling and using energy and other resources effectively. The two winning ideas stand out due to their high innovation potential and can significantly advance the necessary efficiency turnaround."

Swissbit Germany came out on top in the 'Established Companies' category with a universal digital high-security key for convenient cyber-secure processes in an increasingly digitalized business world. The solution offers standard plug-in applets for access control, time recording and secure password storage and provides maximum security and user-friendliness thanks to integrated post-quantum cryptography and simple programming.

With 'Auteras', the Technical University of Dresden has developed an AI-supported planning and design software for building automation that facilitates the selection and combination of software and hardware systems from extensive libraries, thus optimizing planning efficiency and supporting smaller manufacturers and craft businesses in particular.

The next Electrifying Ideas Award will be presented again on May 20, 2026. Applications will be accepted from fall 2025.
