Length and angle measuring systems

Better evaluation electronics

AMO has equipped all scanning heads with new evaluation electronics. They thus offer a position deviation of less than one micrometer within one signal period over the entire temperature range and even when utilizing the mounting tolerances, says the manufacturer.

In addition, the sensors have the new absolute interfaces EnDat 2.2, Mitsubishi and Yaskawa, as well as incremental and serial interfaces. The smooth running of direct drives has also improved thanks to the optimized signal quality of the length and angle measuring systems. A drastically reduced signal noise due to optimized, automatic signal compensation (amplitude, offset and phase) ensures higher control dynamics of the measuring systems.

The new generation also enables higher resolutions of up to 0.05 micrometres up to a maximum speed of up to 26,000 revolutions per minute. The measuring system achieves a repeat accuracy of less than one micrometer or less than one angular second. The rotational speeds of the rotary scanning heads can even be doubled for high-precision applications. The current generation of sensors from AMO is mechanically and electrically compatible with previous length and angle measuring systems. as
