Dr. Florian Geiger becomes CEO of Steeltec
Dr. Florian Geiger will become the new CEO of bright steel producer Steeltec on January 1, 2020. He succeeds Gerd Münch, who is leaving the company after 14 years.
Florian Geiger, who holds a doctorate in business administration, will succeed Gerd Münch as CEO of bright steel producer Steeltec on January 1. Münch worked for the company for 14 years and left at his own request.
Geiger moved to the Schmolz+Bickenbach Group, to which Steeltec also belongs, in 2013. As Vice President Business Development, he was responsible for strategic projects and the Mergers & Acquisitions division. Prior to this, he worked as a management consultant in the field of efficiency enhancement for international companies.
Gerd Münch worked for Steeltec in various roles for a total of 28 years before taking over as Chairman of the Management Board 14 years ago. Geiger paid tribute to his predecessor: "Gerd Münch made an outstanding contribution to Steeltec. He always managed the company with foresight and prudence, never shying away from new paths and ambitious goals, thus laying the foundations for the company's positive development." As Münch's successor, he now wants to strengthen this position: "In close partnership with our customers, I want to continue to position Steeltec as a quality leader in the bright steel sector. We will achieve this through our customer proximity, excellent service and focus on innovative, technical products produced on the most modern bright steel plants currently available in Europe."
