Double-tube unit compensates for high bending moments
With the EP(X)-II series of double-tube units, RK Rose+Krieger offers a robust solution for the precise positioning of medium to heavy loads in any installation position.
Following on from sizes 30 and 40, another popular axis size, size 50, has now been added to the RK portfolio. Interested trade visitors can find out more at Motek. Like the other models in the series, the new size 50 with trapezoidal spindle and an overall length of up to 3 m from RK compensates for high bending moments during manual and motorized adjustment. Further advantages of the robust linear axes are their ease of maintenance and the fact that they are easy to clean. The concept of the split guide nut contributes to the ease of maintenance: This can be easily replaced in the event of wear without having to dismantle the linear axis.
The double-tube units have good running properties with high rigidity and zero play of the guide carriage over the entire stroke. Modern materials and the standard use of high-performance slideways ensure these running characteristics, low wear and therefore a long service life for the EP(X)-II linear units. Both double-tube axes with trapezoidal screw drive from the EP(X)-II series and double solid shaft versions with precise ball screw drive from the EPX-II KG series are available - the former are more suitable for occasional, the latter also for dynamic movement. Users can combine the compatible standard solutions as required. Which linear units are used depends on the requirements of the respective application.
Compatible with previous models
Linear units from the EP(X)-II series are compatible with the previous popular EP(X) units in all functional dimensions, external dimensions and spindle pitches. This means that applications in which the older models are used can be optimized with the new models without any major design effort. It is not necessary to replace accessories such as handwheels or position indicators. The twin-tube units are available in either "right and left-hand thread", "right or left-hand thread" or split threaded spindle versions. A manual, force-locking spindle clamp is available as an option. It is designed to ensure secure locking of the guide carriage and thus prevent unintentional movement of the carriage.
