The device is one of five Omron products to receive the Good Design Award in 2023. This annual global design award aims to help improve the quality of life and overcome social challenges through design. The V460-H was specially developed for manual processes in the automotive industry, for example on production lines for engines and powertrains. It is ideal for traceability processes. Its ergonomic design minimizes wrist strain, while its feedback system makes it easy to check reading results with beeps, vibrations and a bright indicator light.

Thanks to web-link configuration, the reader enables quick and easy setup. Autofocus optics with liquid lens and time-of-flight (ToF) sensor ensure fast and versatile imaging, a key requirement for applications with complex machine parts, serial components and electronic assemblies. The V460-H offers an extended read range from direct contact up to 254 millimeters. With its alternative multi-color illumination configurations, it is ideal for environments with different lighting conditions. The combination of audible, haptic/vibrating and multidirectional visual indicators provides immediate and intuitive feedback while reducing potential operating errors. The V460-H is IP65 certified and complies with IEC-60068-2-31 for drop and fall resistance and ISO-16750-5 for chemical resistance. Connectivity features such as Power over Ethernet (PoE) and support for Ethernet TCP/IP, EtherNet/IP and Profinet make it suitable for industries that value smart and networked processes.
