New European CEO at Omron
Seigo Kinugawa has been CEO of Omron's industrial automation business in the EMEA region since April 1. He succeeds Hiroyuki Usui, who is retiring.
Kinugawa is 53 years old and has been with Omron for 30 years. He started his career with the company as a sales engineer in Nagoya, where he focused on the automotive industry, and subsequently held numerous positions in sales, customer support and planning. Kinugawa has also worked outside Japan for more than ten years, including in mainland Asia, the USA and Europe. Most recently, he was Senior General Manager of the Strategic Planning Department for Industrial Automation at Omron's headquarters in Kyoto.
In addition to his role as CEO of the industrial automation business in the EMEA region, Seigo Kinugawa will also hold the position of Managing Executive Officer of Omron Corporation. He will work primarily from the European headquarters in Hoofdorp, the Netherlands, reporting to Yutaka Miyanaga, President of Omron Corporation's Industrial Automation Company.
"We are very pleased that Seigo Kinugawa is taking on the role of CEO, as he has contributed immensely to the success of the company, especially in the field of robotics," says Harold Kapp, Head of Human Resources at Omron EMEA. "For example, as Senior General Manager of the Robotics Business Project, he initiated our collaboration with Techman."
"I feel very honored to have been given this responsible position in Europe, especially as we are in a phase of rapid innovation and change," says Seigo Kinugawa. "In the last two years, we have increased the number of sales and customer support staff by ten percent and established new proof-of-concept labs across Europe. These local resources enable us to work with our customers, primarily in the automotive, food and pharmaceutical industries, to develop solutions that are specifically tailored to their needs. We can and want to help meet the ever-changing challenges of society." as
