Understanding risks as opportunities - that is Dr. Rieser's credo. He is therefore looking forward to the new challenges at SW. For him, it is particularly important to understand the current sales situation on site at the headquarters in Waldmössingen and in the respective international subsidiaries.

Daniel Rieser, who holds a degree in physics and a doctorate in mechanical engineering, has gained experience in the top management of technology companies, particularly in sales and primarily in Asia. Most recently, the 48-year-old was Head of Sales at a leading global mechanical engineering company for thermal production solutions and coating technologies in Blaubeuren. There he was responsible for operational and strategic planning as well as managing sales and sales policy. Dr. Rieser will benefit from his experience in the Asian market, as the Waldmössingen-based machine tool manufacturer SW is increasingly extending its feelers into the Asian region, alongside North America and Mexico. In this way, SW intends to further expand its own position as a leading manufacturer of smart manufacturing solutions for predominantly large components in the field of electromobility.

Opportunities must be seized

"There are great opportunities ahead of us that we must seize," says Rieser. This also includes driving forward the sale of SW machines in emerging markets such as Southeast Asia, Turkey and Mexico: "The key to a successful strategy lies in intercultural understanding and a local presence." Dr. Rieser also sees the need for sustainable and environmentally friendly concepts as a defining trend for the industry. "Added to this are geopolitical developments, digitalization and international price pressure," he explains. "These factors will continue to determine the future market positioning of SW."

Looking to the economic future, he is optimistic that the company will continue to grow over the course of the year. "My goal is to become the leader in smart manufacturing solutions with SW."
