Large and small electric grips
As a specialist in pneumatic automation, IAI is expanding its range of freely programmable electric grippers. New products include a two-point lifting magnet gripper for small parts assembly and a long-stroke gripper for large workpieces.
The new electric two-point lifting magnet gripper is available in two versions. The smallest version of this gripper enables maximum gripping forces of ten newtons and the larger version of 20 newtons. Both versions have a stroke of four millimeters with tare weights of 160 and 270 grams respectively.
These small electric grippers only require one cable for the power supply and sensor signals, which makes them easy to install in complex systems and therefore safe during operation. The grippers only need 0.03 seconds to open and close. They are used wherever delicate small parts need to be picked up and moved safely and in an energy-saving manner.
However, IAI has not only launched a new solution for gripping small parts, but has also added a new long-stroke gripper to its portfolio for gripping large workpieces. This is based on the familiar slide axis of the RCP6 series and is designed with two slides moving in opposite directions. A variant with an angled motor can also be selected as an option if the available working space requires this. The long-stroke gripper also has a battery-free absolute encoder.
With this gripper, maximum gripping widths of up to 1,200 millimetres can be achieved with stroke lengths between 180 and 260 millimetres - with a maximum projection of the gripper jaws of up to 400 millimetres. Depending on the spindle pitch, the long-stroke gripper can grip with forces between 155 and a maximum of 400 newtons with a repeat accuracy of plus/minus 0.01 millimetres.
All models in this new series are also optionally equipped with an integrated controller, which should simplify installation. The long-stroke gripper can be used primarily for handling larger plastic parts and other large parts in all branches of industry that require a correspondingly large gripper for handling. as
