Trade fairs for 2020 canceled

After close consultation with exhibitors and partners, Messe Düsseldorf has had to cancel the Valve World Expo, wire and Tube trade fairs planned for December due to the current Covid-19 infection situation.

The next events are scheduled to take place in Düsseldorf in 2022. The other Messe Düsseldorf events planned for 2021 are not affected by this decision.

"Due to the federal-state decision of October 28, 2020, trade fairs cannot take place for the time being until the end of November. This means that the last face-to-face events of this year will not be held in Düsseldorf. Until recently, our hygiene and infection protection concept, which was well received by exhibitors, as well as the focus on a European orientation of the trade fairs, made it seem realistic to hope for a successful implementation with the greatest possible protection for all participants. Due to the escalation of the pandemic in Germany and our neighboring European countries, the situation had to be completely reassessed. Against this background and the current multitude of uncertainties on the exhibitor and visitor side, we have made the decision to cancel the trade fairs," explains Wolfram Diener, CEO of Messe Düsseldorf.

The next editions of the two international number one trade fairs for the wire, cable and tube industry, wire and Tube, will now take place in 2022 as scheduled. The same applies to Valve World Expo, the world's largest and most important trade fair for industrial valves.

"Exhibitors and visitors can continue to use our online platforms to find out about the latest news from the industry as well as trends and new products. We are continuously developing our digital offerings," says Diener.

Diener emphasizes: "Today's decision is an event- and industry-specific decision that does not affect the other events planned by Messe Düsseldorf. As things stand, these will continue to take place. We are in close contact with the authorities and the partners of the respective trade fairs, with whom we will reassess the situation in good time and make a responsible decision."
