Three new trade fairs under the umbrella of Messe Düsseldorf
Growth market Turkey: Messe Düsseldorf expands metal trade fair portfolio
Messe Düsseldorf is expanding its competence in Turkey and is gaining three new, strong satellites for its global metal trade fair portfolio with the internationally important trade fairs for the metallurgy, foundry and aluminum industries - Ankiros/Turkcast and Aluexpo.
To this end, two of Germany's largest trade fair companies are pooling their expertise in the Turkish market in a joint venture: Messe Düsseldorf and Deutsche Messe will each hold a 50 percent stake in Hannover Messe Ankiros Fuarcilik A.S. in the future.
Independent of this: Messe Düsseldorf and Tüyap Fairs Istanbul continue to develop wire Eurasia and Tube Eurasia
Unaffected by this, Messe Düsseldorf and its Turkish partner Tüyap Fairs Istanbul will continue to jointly develop the regional trade fairs wire Eurasia and Tube Eurasia in Istanbul after their successful premiere in 2023. "We are very pleased about this major step towards the further development of market-relevant topics from the metal industry in Turkey," says Friedrich-Georg Kehrer, Global Portfolio Director of Messe Düsseldorf, explaining the strategic partnership. "Turkey, with its economic appeal, is also a flourishing marketplace between Europe and Asia for the key technologies of wire, cable and tubes," says Kehrer.
In recent years, Turkey has invested heavily in the construction of housing, roads, bridges and railroads, among other things. Further major projects are in the pipeline. This is leading to high demand for wire, cables and pipes as well as metallurgical and foundry products. Turkey therefore offers excellent economic prospects and impresses with its bridging function between Europe and Asia. Thanks to its large domestic market and strong industrial base, Turkey has long been an important trading partner for Germany and NRW.
In 2022, the trade volume between Germany and Turkey amounted to 27 billion euros, of which NRW accounted for 42.6 percent with 11.5 billion euros.
