Management change in the KraussMaffei Group
The KraussMaffei Group (KMG) is starting the year with a new management team. Alex Li takes over the position of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the KraussMaffei Group, Chi Zhang returns as Chairman of the Supervisory Board and Michael Hofmann takes over the CFO position.
Alex Li is the new CEO of the KraussMaffei Group
Alex Li has extensive international experience in financial management and corporate governance. Commenting on his appointment, he said:
"I'm really looking forward to my new role. Over the past year, I have already had ample opportunity to get to know the company and the team. KraussMaffei is an innovative company and I look forward to continuing to shape the future of KraussMaffei together with all employees and expanding our position as an innovation leader."
Alex Li succeeds Chi Zhang, who will resume the role of Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the KraussMaffei Group on January 1, 2026. In his two years as CEO, Chi Zhang has made a significant contribution to strengthening KraussMaffei's global position with his strategic vision. New growth markets were opened up in particular through the targeted expansion of activities and partnerships in Asia.
"I will always have fond memories of my time in operations at KraussMaffei. We achieved a lot together. I am honored to be able to continue to accompany KraussMaffei in my new, old role as Chairman of the Supervisory Board," says Chi Zhang about his move.
Michael Hofmann is the new CFO at KraussMaffei
Alongside the appointment of Alex Li, the position of Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will also be filled. Michael Hofmann will assume the role of CFO with effect from March 1, 2026. He joins from the Putzmeister Group, a leading manufacturer of concrete pumps and solution provider for the concrete value chain, where he was Group CFO and a member of the Executive Board. Previously, Hofmann held various management positions in Europe and China for several years, including CFO and general management roles for the Diehl Group, a global technology company.

I have already met several key members of the global management team and have received a very warm welcome from KraussMaffei and the shareholder," says Michael Hofmann about his new role. "KraussMaffei is a leading player in the industry and enjoys an excellent reputation - I am very much looking forward to being part of the team soon."
In addition, Yong Li, former Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), will leave the company at the end of the year at his own request. He will take up a new position within the Sinochem Group in China. Yong Li has played a key role in shaping the management of KraussMaffei since 2023. The Supervisory Board and management would like to thank him for his loyalty, inspiration and tireless commitment to the company and wish him all the best and every success in his new role.
With these changes, KraussMaffei is entering 2026 with a new management structure that ensures both continuity and a strategic course for further profitable growth.
