"When it comes to engineering, we will be the central interface for the product in future," says Klaus Brinkmann. Among other things, this will drive forward the development of the divisions at the Egelsbach site.

Synergy effects for product development
Brinkmann joined SMC in 2006 as Area Sales Manager. From 2015, he was responsible for all sales in Germany. As Head of Sales Headquarters since 2018, the mechanical engineering graduate has been responsible for connecting customers with the right solutions for them. Brinkmann: "The development towards an even greater customer focus is continuing at SMC. For example, we have increasingly interlinked the Product Management, Customer Project and GTC departments. This enables us to increase our efficiency and provide our customers with even better support in all technical matters in future - from the initial ideas to the commissioning of automation solutions."

The 57-year-old mechanical engineer sees the Engineering division as an important building block for meeting customers' individual requirements in the future: "Our Product Management, Customer Project and GTC teams place great importance on high technical standards and comprehensive customer satisfaction. As the interface between development, production and customers, we want to promote SMC's growth strategy in the long term." as
