Human Resources Excellence Award
Award for innovative personnel management for Lapp
U.I. Lapp was honored with the Human Resources Excellence Award 2017 in the Work 4.0 category. The prize, which is awarded annually by the specialist magazine Human Resources Manager and the Quadriga University of Applied Sciences Berlin and recognizes the most innovative strategies in the field of HR management, was awarded for the support and assistance provided by the HR department for the successful transformation into a modern working world at the Lapp Group.
With its new European headquarters, which opened a year ago, Lapp has created a completely new office and working environment. Based on the so-called open office concept, employees have the opportunity to change their workplace individually depending on the task at hand. This is intended to increase the innovative strength, commitment and well-being of employees.
Nicole Schmolke, Head of Human Resources at U.I. Lapp: "The task was to prepare the employees for this new Lapp working world 4.0 and to get them excited about the benefits." For example, rules for the new world of work 4.0 were developed in workshops with management and executives. Floorwalkers serve as contacts for technical problems. Project groups were also initiated to deal with the digital change in the world of work. Among other things, new learning formats were introduced, including digital scavenger hunts, live feedback surveys and various quizzes.
These measures also impressed the jury. It recognized "a successful transformation from the previous to the new world of work at Lapp. The connection to Working Worlds 4.0 and the communication to internal employees and external customers."
U.I. Lapp GmbH has already received several awards for its HR work, most recently for its family-friendly HR concept. The company won the corporate competition "Success Factor Family 2016", which is organized by the Federal Ministry for Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth, in the category for medium-sized companies. cs
