For the first time, the Federal Ministry forEconomic Affairs and Energy (BMWi) is committed to supporting young innovative companies at the Wire and Tube trade fairs. The wire, cable and tube industry trade fairs will take place from 30 March to 3 April 2020 in the Düsseldorf exhibition halls and are organized by Messe Düsseldorf. Start-ups can now take part and have the opportunity to present their products and services at the BMWi pavilion in spring 2020. Around 70,000 trade visitors from all over the world are expected over the five days of the fair.

The requirements for participation are that the start-ups must present new developments or improvements to existing products, be less than ten years old, employ fewer than 50 people and have their headquarters and business operations in Germany. In addition, the annual turnover must not exceed 10 million euros. If these requirements are met, the BMWi will cover up to 60 percent of the eligible costs, up to a total of 7,500 euros. Companies can book exhibition stands measuring 6, 9 or 12 square meters. Messe Düsseldorf organizes the BMWi pavilion and is the point of contact for start-ups interested in participating. In addition, on-site support from Messe Düsseldorf staff will assist the young companies at the trade fair.
