Axel Schneider is the new Head of the Technology Division at Schmersal

The Schmersal Group has appointed Axel Schneider as the new Head of the Technology Division.

The electrical engineering graduate previously held management positions at international companies in the automation and telecommunications sectors. During his professional career, he has gained in-depth knowledge and experience, particularly in the areas of product development, network technology and industrial IT systems. The 49-year-old has also completed various additional training courses in agile product development as well as project and change management and is a certified Professional Scrum Product Owner.

As Head of the Technology Division at the Schmersal Group, Axel Schneider is responsible for the global coordination and harmonization of development capacities and innovation projects. Among other things, this includes the expansion of group-wide standards in the area of development and the continuous further development of Schmersal's global product portfolio.

"In the wake of Industry 4.0 and digitalization, the pace of innovation in industry and particularly in mechanical engineering has increased significantly. Schmersal is well positioned in the area of product development with more than 100 employees at seven locations worldwide. Nevertheless, my goal is to further improve and accelerate the innovation processes at Schmersal," says Axel Schneider. "Because we are convinced that safety technology must not only keep pace with the dynamic development in companies, but also pave the way for the introduction of new technologies".
