Introduced in 2019 as an equipment variant for the company's own spindles, the current version of the solution can be used for many drive components. IDEA-4S is a compact, easy-to-integrate information technology that enables spindles and motors to collect, enrich and interpret relevant information. The system determines the data, evaluates it and makes it available for exchange and communication in production networks via IO-Link. Thanks to this interface, it can be used independently of fieldbus systems and therefore universally for all control systems. Seamless connection to IloT infrastructures is also possible without impacting the performance of the control system.

The IDEA-4S technology contextualizes and evaluates the raw data collected at the drive unit. It selects which sensor data is important, correlates the signals obtained and interprets them. The benefits of IDEA-4S include improved spindle performance, lower costs and higher production quality. The identification of the spindle based on the digital type plate also enables automated linking with product data such as data sheets, setting data, model data and test data. In addition to the transmission of data streams via the IO-Link interface, information on speed and motor temperature continues to be provided conventionally directly on the machine controller.
