Drive technology 4.0 at the FMB
What are the latest development trends in drive technology? From November 7 to 9, more than 90 of 447 exhibitors will be presenting their innovations in electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic drive technology at the FMB - Supplier Fair for Mechanical Engineering.
These include global players in electromechanical drive technology such as Lenze, Nord Drivesystems, SEW-Eurodrive, Siemens and SKF. Many well-known medium-sized specialists for precision drives, gearboxes, small motors and linear actuators will also be present at the trade fair - for example Faulhaber, Franke, G&G Antriebstechnik, Harmonic Drive, Igus, KEB, Mayr, Nadella, Neff, Rodriguez, Stöber and Wittenstein, as the organizer announced. The hydraulics sector was represented by market leaders such as Bosch Rexroth and Hansa-Flex, while the pneumatics sector was represented by Aventics, Festo and SMC, among others. Other manufacturers who rely on specialist dealers for sales will be present at the trade fair via their distributors such as Hardy Schmitz, Nölle & Nordhorn, Oltrogge and Werthenbach.
Drive technology 4.0
Many of the almost one hundred expected exhibitors with a focus on industrial drives will focus on digitalization and show examples of "Drive Technology 4.0". Modern drives can be integrated into predictive maintenance systems, which are often cloud-based. They meet the ever stricter requirements for energy efficiency and are increasingly modular in design so that they can be adapted to changing requirements during the machine or system's service life. The integration of drive technology and sensor technology is also a current trend, resulting in self-regulating drive assemblies - a first step towards intelligent drives, which also require interfaces for universal communication networks.
These solutions cannot be implemented without control and automation technology. Both areas are also strongly represented at the FMB, which will provide an overview of both classic drive technology and digitalized drive concepts for Industry 4.0. as
