Distance couplings

Over long distances

The drive specialist Enemac has three new coupling types from the spacer coupling range in its portfolio. The EWLA and EWLM types can compensate for large axial and radial misalignments.

As these are metal bellows couplings connected by a high-strength aluminum tube, the advantages of the metal bellows are retained. Both types are backlash-free and are suitable for high operating speeds with a low moment of inertia. The EWLM variant is suitable for applications with high temperatures of up to 300 degrees Celsius. Installation lengths of up to six meters can be bridged with a variable-length intermediate tube; this tube is adapted according to customer requirements. The EWLH product series, which consists of two elastomer couplings connected by a high-strength aluminum tube, is ideal for compensating lateral misalignment. The plug-in coupling can be moved axially, which makes installation easier.

The integrated elastomer spiders dampen existing vibrations. The easy-to-install clamping hubs ensure a friction-locked connection. These spacer couplings can be used in a torque range of up to 1,600 Newton meters for shafts with a diameter of 100 millimetres. The manufacturer quotes speeds of up to 8,000 revolutions per minute; no additional intermediate bearing is required. pb
