Fronius Perfect Welding
Welding solutions in the name of resource efficiency
At the Welding & Cutting trade fair in Essen (September 11-15), Fronius will be focusing on the major drivers in welding technology. Quality requirements are increasing in all industries, but the required welding specialists are scarce. In addition, the protection of resources is of particular importance. Avoiding faulty production and costly reworking is crucial here.
Fronius is expanding its welding portfolio with several solutions to combat the shortage of skilled workers. "Our solution approach is to use digital support to ensure welding quality and save material, as well as to offer ease of use and technological assistance - both for welding beginners and professionals," summarizes Harald Scherleitner, General Director Sales and Marketing, Perfect Welding, Fronius International. "We research and develop with and for our customers. We therefore understand their concerns and are delighted to be presenting all of our innovations at the trade fair."
People and their skills and abilities are at the heart of all the solutions that Fronius is exhibiting at the trade fair. Fronius high-end welding systems have everything the technology needs for perfect weld seams. Nevertheless, only sound training guarantees that welders learn to weld to a high standard, rarely need to rework and produce few rejects.
Realistic welding training with the Welducation Simulator
Virtual welding training is taught using the Fronius Welducation Simulator. Packaged in the housing of a standard welding machine, it works with real welding torches and a particularly realistic representation in augmented reality (AR). The Welducation Campus platform, which is part of the simulator, enables comprehensive quality welding training with theory, welding tasks and knowledge testing. This form of training does not require any gas, material or filler wire.
Experience live - TIG cold wire welding intelligently simple
According to the company, the demonstration of the new Fronius TIG solution will be one of the highlights at the trade fair. The iWave, including cold wire feed and the Welding Package TIG DynamicWire, helps all TIG beginners or less experienced users to produce perfect TIG weld seams. The dynamic wire control actively adapts the wire feed speed to the welding behavior, the torch position and the current conditions.
In addition to good training, standardization can also help to ensure quality from the first to the last component. With the WeldCube Navigator, Fronius is launching a digital tool on the market that standardizes work instructions and simplifies knowledge transfer. Welding specialists are guided through their tasks on a screen with step-by-step instructions. This increases welding quality and makes familiarization and training easier and faster.
Cobot solutions - profitable from batch size 1
Freeing well-trained employees from routine tasks and optimally deploying them for more demanding activities is another option in the fight against the shortage of skilled workers. The CWC-S cobot welding cell from Fronius is the first step towards automation. It is compact, precise and intuitive to operate and delivers reproducible welding quality around the clock. The standard equipment includes a Fanuc Cobot CX10 iA with a reach of 1249 millimetres and a payload of 10 kilograms as well as a welding table with a working area of 1500 x 1000 x 700 millimetres.
However, all the technical solutions also include the safety and health of the skilled workers. Fronius attaches great importance to ergonomics, for example in the development of new quality welding torches, so that they can work with ease. A selection of effective welding fume extraction systems, fresh air systems and extraction torches, as well as protective clothing and equipment, serve to protect skilled workers from damage to their health and the company from downtime.
