Trade fair for additive manufacturing
The Formnext trade fair will offer its trade visitors an expanded range of topics from November 15 to 18, 2022 under the Frankfurt Trade Fair Tower.
With over 730 exhibitors and a booked gross area of more than 50,000 square meters, Formnext has grown significantly compared to the previous year. The supporting program, which covers current topics and innovations in additive manufacturing from the construction industry and aerospace to ceramics applications and investments, will also be more extensive and varied than ever before. This year's partner country, France, will also play an important role.
Among other things, Formnext has significantly expanded the AM4U area. It includes the topics of start-ups and investments (Tuesday, 15.11.), construction and architecture, decentralized manufacturing and the partner country France (Wednesday, 16.11.), AM in training and careers (17.11.) and, for the first time, a "Deep Thought presented by ACAM, Formnext and VDMA AG AM", in which AM topics will be examined in more detail and answers to important questions from the industry will be discussed. On Friday, November 18, a new panel will shed light on the use of AM in ceramic applications.
Partner country France
France is one of the most important countries in Europe for additive manufacturing and has been present at Formnext for years. This year, more than 40 French companies, associations and research institutions will be represented in Frankfurt. With France Additive, Cimes, CCI Nouvelle-Aquitaine and the Carnot Network, French partners and important AM associations, regions and research institutions will also be taking part.
The Start-up Challenge, which honors innovative and viable business ideas from young companies, will take place for the eighth time at Formnext. The exhibitors in the Start-up Area will present themselves in short rounds of introductions on the AM4U stage, and there will also be exciting contributions on the topic of investment and funding. The purmundus challenge ideas competition is celebrating its 10th anniversary with a special "Best of 10 Years" show.
The VDMA will present its special show with industrial AM applications and business cases from the world of mechanical engineering and will provide further insights with presentations on the AM4U stage. The BE-AM special show will use real applications to demonstrate the advanced developments of the increasingly important 3D printing in the construction industry. At the same time, the BE-AM symposium will discuss the background and future developments in this field - including 3D printing with clay, sustainability and digital manufacturing.
The field of norms and standards, which is important for the entire AM industry and users, will once again be discussed by experts and decision-makers from all over the world at the renowned ASTM Standards Forum, which will take place in Frankfurt on November 14, 2022. A new addition to the Formnext supporting program is the "Wohlers Report LIVE at Formnext 2022" event on 14.11. following the Standards Forum, where participants will receive an overview of the AM industry and many valuable insights into the topics of materials and component production, the future of AM and much more.
