Systems for series production
At Formnext, Arburg will be showcasing the new Freeformer 750-3X, whose installation space is around 2.5 times larger than that of the Freeformer 300-3X, which will also be presented in Frankfurt.
As the world's leading trade fair, Formnext is one of the most important trade fairs for us and our markets," explains Dr. Victor Roman, Managing Director of Arburg Additive. "That's why we will be present with a correspondingly extensive presence." Special attention will be paid to the new Freeformer 750-3X, whose large installation space is suitable for the rapid series production of large components or several items per build job. "Other trade fair highlights include the sales campaign with our Freeformer 200-3X 'soft' for processing soft materials, high-temperature applications and the additive manufacturing of hard/soft products," Dr. Roman continued.
The principle of material preparation remains the same for the Freeformer 750-3X, but the new unit has a more compact design. From the outside, the Freeformer 750-3X is indistinguishable from the 300-3X, as it has the same external dimensions. However, the component carrier is around 2.5 times larger at around 750 cm2- to which the name of the new system refers. The significantly larger installation space, measuring 330 x 230 x 230 mm, is the result of several technical innovations. These include optimized mass pressure generators for dosing and injection, in which servo motors from AMK Motion are used.
This allows the three discharge units to be arranged closer together and more compactly. The printing speed has been increased thanks to the further development of the control software. The Freeformer 200-3X "soft" is particularly suitable for processing soft materials such as TPE in a wide range of Shore hardnesses. Material drying is integrated into the machine and can be programmed via the control system. Thanks to its gentle plasticizing process, the 200-3X "soft" is also suitable for the production of components with high mechanical strength. The Arburg family member Innovatiq will also be represented at the Formnext stand. Its systems process FFF filaments and LSR. The new TiQ2 filament printer for industrial applications will be presented.
