Vision with good visitor response
6505 visitors and 378 exhibitors attended the machine vision trade fair in Stuttgart.
Roland Bleinroth, Managing Director of Messe Stuttgart, was highly satisfied after the conclusion of Vision 2022: "Vision 2022 was a complete success and far exceeded our expectations - both in terms of visitors and exhibitors. It is also good to see that the event was able to record a higher level of international participation again after the pandemic-related restrictions of the previous year. This means that Vision is once again developing in the direction of familiar structures, even in the context of changed information procurement."
After 5400 trade visitors in 2021, 6505 came to the two exhibition halls at Stuttgart Airport this year. In total, visitors from around 60 countries were registered. The countries most strongly represented were Italy, Switzerland, the Netherlands, France, Austria, Belgium, Poland, Spain and the UK. Vision also welcomed a large number of trade visitors from South Korea, Japan and the USA.
378 Exhibitors
A total of 378 exhibiting companies - 60 percent of which came from abroad - presented the broad spectrum of machine vision over three days. In addition to numerous first-time participants, the key players in the industry were also on site. For Dr. Dietmar Ley, CEO of Basler AG, Vision is the most important computer vision marketplace in Europe: "For us, Vision is the central platform for presenting innovations and communicating our repositioning as a solution provider. Once again this year, many visitors approached us with specific new projects." In terms of technology, Basler saw a continuation of the trend topics from recent years at Vision 2022. "We saw a further development in the field of artificial intelligence. In this context, Industry 4.0 with cloud architecture and AI-based image processing on edge devices will continue to establish itself. 3D technology will also continue to mature and become more cost-effective."
Beckhoff Automation exhibited at Vision for the first time. Bernd Stöber, Senior Product Manager Vision, was thoroughly satisfied: "Our aim was to present the new hardware products and thus an integrated, control-synchronized complete solution to the vision technology industry for the first time alongside our existing vision software solution. With our expanded portfolio, we were able to make a large number of high-quality contacts. After the intensive discussions at Vision, visitors perceive Beckhoff as a complete provider of vision solutions. We are therefore certain that we will be exhibiting again in 2024."
Standards as the basis for growth
Uniform global standards are the basis for the acceptance of image processing technology in a wide range of user industries. This is also emphasized by the European Machine Vision Association EMVA. "As the leading European industry association, we were once again in charge of the 'International Vision Standards' stand to bring the standards required for the continued growth of the vision industry closer to trade visitors at Vision. Vision continues to be the most important machine vision trade fair in the world. The many new companies and technologies at the trade fair have impressively confirmed this and underline the performance potential and high vitality of the industry. We are entering a new macro-economic environment and are confident that machine vision is well positioned to continue to create long-term value for our users," summarizes Dr. Chris Yates, EMVA President.
The next VISION will take place from October 8 to 10, 2024.
