On a first-name basis with the robot
Sensopart is expanding its Visor vision sensor series with a sensor specially designed for robotics applications.
The new Visor Robotic enables direct communication with UR robot systems via a URCap software package. This makes it very easy to configure automation tasks using prepared application routines. In order to be able to react flexibly to changing situations such as changing part shapes or pick-up positions, a robot needs reliable information about the environment in a form that it can understand. The image coordinates provided by a camera are of no use to the robot. The vision sensor provides all the information already converted into robot coordinates so that the robot can use the results directly. A one-off calibration using a calibration plate, available as an accessory, or by means of a point pair list is all that is required. sw
