Business year from Meusburger

Sales decline, number of customers increases

Meusburger has published its figures for the 2019 financial year. According to the figures, the annual turnover of the Austrian manufacturer of products for tool, die and mold making declined slightly. On the positive side, however, the number of active customers increased at the same time.

The Wolfurt-based company Meusburger recorded an annual turnover of 291 million euros in 2019, a slight decline compared to the previous year. This was due to the difficult order situation in the automotive industry and the economic slowdown. In contrast, the number of active customers developed positively, increasing to over 22,500. With the planned additional site in Hohenems, the company is also investing in the future at an early stage.

The internationally active manufacturer of products for tool, mold and machine construction reported a turnover of around 291 million euros for the past year, which represents a slight decline of 5.5 percent. "There are two main factors responsible for this: the difficult order situation in the automotive industry and the economic slowdown, particularly in Germany," explains owner and Managing Director Guntram Meusburger.

The company remains convinced of the long-term success of its strategic direction. It will therefore continue to invest in the areas of sales, logistics, production and services in the future: for example, the automated small parts warehouse will be expanded by 50% over the course of 2020, creating sufficient space for planned product range expansions. In the current year, the company is also continuing to invest in structures, software and additional systems that will enable products to be manufactured reliably and at a high level of quality.

With the purchase of a plot of land in Hohenems, on which a new office building is being built as a first step, provisions for the future were made at an early stage. In addition, the hot runner and control technology specialist PSG, which was acquired in 2016, was fully integrated into the company. This allows the extensive know-how to be bundled and further developed even better under the Meusburger corporate brand. Together with the expansion of the field service team, these developments will ensure that the now more than 22,500 customers worldwide will continue to be well looked after in the coming years.

Business at Meusburger's global subsidiaries in China, Mexico, Turkey, India and the USA also developed positively last year. Thanks to the great commitment of the local teams, globalization was further advanced. As a result of these positive developments, Meusburger has set itself the goal of gaining further market share in 2020 and strengthening its global presence.
