Handling sensitive electronic components
Schmalz has developed a flow gripper (SCG) designed to transport plastic parts and printed circuit boards safely. The vacuum is built up in a very short time and therefore enables very fast handling cycles.
The SCG is designed to move the components reliably even when the suction surface is only slightly occupied, for example when PCBs have openings or holes or are fitted with components. According to the manufacturer, users also benefit from low operating costs: the gripper delivers high performance with minimal air consumption. It has a suction capacity of up to 590 liters per minute and works at an operating pressure of between 1 and 5 bar.
