Double checkweigher checks according to two target values

The double checkweigher on DEW can check for two different target values at the same time. It is therefore suitable for use in production facilities where right and left-hand components with different target weights are produced at the same time.

A scale needs about one to two seconds after use to swing out and reach its zero weight again. Only then is the scale ready for the next weighing operation. With the double checkweigher, two weighbridges are used alternately. There is no need to wait for the scales to swing out - this special solution streamlines production processes.

The two weighing platforms can also check for two target values at the same time. By integrating into IT networks, the double checkweigher can also control processes. It reacts independently to process-related weight changes by adjusting the target value. At Fachpack, the weighing and measuring technology company DEW will be presenting its new special solution - the double checkweigher, which is already in use at a well-known automotive supplier.

Saving the settling time
Only a gap width separates the two weighing bridges of the double checkweigher. They check the weight of components that are delivered to the production line. Thanks to the close arrangement of the two weighbridges, the operator or robot can remove an already weighed component from one of the weighbridges in a single work step and place the next component on the second weighbridge almost simultaneously. The combination of two scales, which are used alternately, makes the settling time irrelevant. The process no longer comes to a standstill and production becomes smoother and faster.

Simultaneous checking of different target values
Checkweighers check whether the weighing values (actual values) correspond to the desired target value or whether they are within the permissible tolerance limits (comparison of actual value with target value). The scales emit traffic light signals accordingly (green light means "OK (IO)", red light means "Not OK (NOK)".

The double checkweigher offers an additional function: its two weighing platforms can each check for two different target values at the same time. The measurement results appear on a shared display with a split view - one half of the display is assigned to the measurement results of one of the two weighing platforms.

Monitoring of weighing values
Industry 4.0 - the integration of modern IT with industrial production - offers great opportunities for weighing technology. And we take advantage of them: The double checkweigher can be integrated into IT networks - for example into ERP systems. This allows the scales to react independently to process-related weight changes. For example, if the manufactured components continuously become slightly heavier due to increasing tool wear. The double checkweigher then automatically calculates the adjusted new target value from the last ten weighings.

Perpetual stamp file
The double checkweigher is also equipped with a perpetual stamp file. Each weighing is documented with article number and time. as
