Safety brakes
Vertical axle brakes with checklist
Mayr Antriebstechnik is coming to Hanover with its electromagnetic, pneumatic and hydraulic vertical axle brakes. These systems safeguard against all hazardous situations that can occur during the operation of gravity-loaded axles. These include, for example, the safety brakes from the Roba-topstop, -guidestop and -linearstop series. With the Roba-topstop braking system, Mayr also offers a stand-alone module that holds the vertical axis safely in any position.
With a checklist, the company also offers support with the validation of safety brakes. Gravity-loaded axes in machine tools must be safe. A safety function must be defined from the risk assessment and each component in the chain must be validated. To bundle the flood of information, Mayr provides a smart validation aid for its safety brakes. This is a clear checklist structured in accordance with DIN EN ISO 13849-2, which can be used to check the correct selection of brakes easily and reliably. After the risk assessment and validation of the individual components, potential hazards must be identified and reduced to a minimum.
