Siemens Smart Infrastructure presents the Siprotec 5 Compact device, which is specially designed for the requirements of industry, infrastructure and distribution networks.

With its compact size, high number of inputs and outputs and universal range of functions, it can be configured to meet individual requirements for the protection of feeders and motors. Space-saving and as a universal device, it ideally meets the requirements for optimizing investment and operating costs in power distribution.

Siprotec 5 Compact is part of the proven Siprotec 5 family. Its digital twin (Siprotec DigitalTwin) enables virtual testing of devices in the cloud within minutes, without hardware or additional effort. In addition, all device data can be recorded, analyzed and visualized in the cloud using the Siprotec Dashboard IoT application. All current cyber security standards are of course met.
"With the new Siprotec 5 Compact protection device, we now offer a universal device that can be configured flexibly, quickly and easily depending on the application. It is based on the established platform. We are thus completing the Siprotec family for use in power distribution as well as in industrial and infrastructure systems," said Robert Klaffus, CEO Digital Grid at Siemens Smart Infrastructure.

Today, protection devices record a large number of different measured values and grid status variables. This data is used to protect and automate the energy system, thus contributing to security of supply and helping to implement the energy transition. More than two million Siprotec devices from Siemens are installed worldwide.
