Safety light curtains based on the transmitter-receiver principle were developed by Fiessler back in the 1970s and sold worldwide. With new technologies, such as the development of laser diodes, the company was able to create new areas of application and thus make workplaces safer.

Akas, the first certified press brake safety system, revolutionized work on dangerous presses. In 2000, the company was awarded the Baden-Württemberg Innovation Prize for this development. In the meantime, the 5th generation of the Akas system has been launched on the market.

Over the past few years, strategies have been developed to transform the company from a component supplier for safety-related applications into a solution provider. The first step in this direction was taken with the development of the safe FPSC control system. This innovation was announced in 2005 and was awarded another innovation prize two years later. This development laid the foundation for safe speed monitoring up to performance level e. Many problems in the safety sector could thus be solved.

New technologies open up new perspectives, especially in terms of speed. This also applies to the FMSC modular control system, which continues the success story of the FPSC. With the specially developed software tool FMSC Studio, safety-relevant applications can be implemented intuitively and easily.
