Driving the Circular Economy - Accelerating towards a World Without Waste: KeelClip™ packaging technology on multipack cans
The cardboard packaging solution replaces the conventional plastic packaging for multipacks of 4 or 8 beverage cans and saves 350,000 kg of plastic film in the Dutch market alone. Although cartonboard solutions for beverage cans and bottles have been on the market for some time, one challenge that has not yet been adequately solved is the sleek cans, whose geometry offers few points of attack for the cans to clip into the carton. The cans are securely locked in the minimalist cardboard lid. The lid clip does not protrude beyond the dimensions of the cans and is therefore also logistically advantageous. The minimalist design of the clip allows the cans to take center stage in this container and is only effective where necessary. The cans are fixed at the top edge and hygienically covered with the cardboard cover. This area is then also available as a communication surface. In terms of sustainability, this solution impresses with its lower use of material compared to a closed carton and compared to a shrink-wrapped container.
