Hofmann Menu BioPap frozen food packaging
Sustainable packaging concepts are currently being developed in all areas of the FMCG sector. This means that new packaging concepts are also being developed for the frozen food sector, which are primarily intended to appeal to buyers of organic products. The company Hofmann Menü-Manufaktur GmbH ("Die grüne Manufaktur") has succeeded in developing a meal tray that consists of over 95% certified cellulose obtained from European spruce. The lid of the bowl, also made of cellulose, is bonded with a wafer-thin sealing wax coating. This means that the typical plastic film coatings can be dispensed with. Nevertheless, this packaging offers optimum product protection and is equipped for moist products. The heat resistance of the meal tray allows preparation in the oven or microwave. Thanks to the high cellulose content, the packaging can even be composted (tested and certified in accordance with DIN EN 13432). All in all, a truly future-oriented and sustainable innovation for the frozen food sector.
