Safety when reversing
The Sens+ camera-based assistance system from Toyota protects forklift truck operators from collisions with objects and people.
The dynamic detection range supports safe load handling and offers safety when reversing. The assistance system minimizes risks through notifications and speed control of the truck. It uses algorithms to differentiate between people and obstacles. First, the camera detects obstacles in general; in a second step, the system distinguishes people from objects based on their standing and walking silhouettes. The detection area of the camera system consists of three zones to which different warnings and regulations are applied. If an object is detected in the path of travel, Sens+ restricts the starting movement.
