Roll container
Stacked, plugged, sustainably rolled
Walther Faltsysteme has been developing concepts for more sustainable logistics for more than 40 years. At Fachpack, the company presented its first roll container for store and warehouse logistics.
Environmentally friendly packaging - that was one of the main topics at this year's Fachpack. At the heart of Walther Faltsysteme's range are customized reusable transport solutions made from recyclable plastic, recycled materials and, for some years now, also from renewable raw materials.
At Fachpack, the company presented its first roll container for store and warehouse logistics. 19 base plates that can be stacked on top of each other and 16 side rails that can be inserted into a base plate - no other roll container can be compacted to such an extent. The volume of the reusable transport solution is reduced by up to 76 percent, making it efficient to transport when unloaded and saving the user CO2 emissions.
The stability of the mobile container also contributes to its sustainability: Intermediate shelves can currently be inserted into the side rails in five positions and reinforced with clips if required. This means that all transport tasks in the warehouse and in the store can be handled without the use of aids such as disposable stretch film. "The visitors to our stand were very surprised at how significantly sustainability and efficiency can be increased, even with long-established products such as roll containers," explains Thomas Walther, Managing Director of Walther Faltsysteme.
Sustainability claim for all products
If, at some point, external influences cause defects in the roll container that cannot be repaired, the base plates are recycled and reused as new. At Fachpack, the Kevelaer-based company used specific product examples to illustrate the stages of the circular economy of a reusable transport solution by means of an installation: from the conception of an efficient life cycle design, through smart production with zero granulate loss, to upcycling, i.e. reuse in new quality, products designed for maximum service life.
"The recycling targets and sustainability initiatives of retailers require innovative concepts in the logistics and reusable sector. We address this need with many of our transport solutions. For example, the folding boxes in our Greenline product family are made entirely from renewable plastic," says Thomas Walther. as
