Networking in the warehouse

Networked into the warehouse of the future

Digitalization and automation in the warehouse. More and more companies are recognizing the opportunities offered by digitalization and robotics. Growth impulses are being generated above all by greater automation, the networking of IT systems that previously worked separately, the greatest possible individualization and the use of innovative energy systems. Linde will be showcasing products and solutions that build on this.

At Logimat, Linde's portfolio includes all important warehouse and system technology equipment. A new addition is the Linde R-Matic reach truck, which replenishes shelves at any time and handles replenishment transparently, reliably and reliably. At the same time, it completes the circle of end-to-end automated transfer of loads between different self-propelled vehicles.

Demand for industrial trucks with lithium-ion batteries has also increased. Linde currently offers models with lithium-ion batteries in all load capacity classes up to five tons. In the load capacity range from two to five tons, this now also includes models with a load center of 600 millimeters. The Li-ion calculator developed by Linde allows sales advisors to work with the customer to determine which device with which battery and which charger is best suited to the customer's specific application and how big the potential savings are compared to the respective model with a lead-acid battery. This simulates the application in detail. "At the end, the decision-makers know what savings will be achieved and when the investment will have paid for itself," explains Christoph Englert, Product Manager Li-Ion at Linde Material Handling.

Digitally networked vehicles also open up huge optimization potential for goods handling. Equipped with the appropriate software, the forklift fleet will in future carry out orders in the optimum sequence, on the shortest route, at the ideal speed and with maximum safety. The new truck call app for digital order management will be presented for the first time at the trade fair. Logistics managers use it to create transport orders, assign priorities and allocate orders to employees with suitable vehicle models. The aim of the app is to manage transport orders effectively and avoid empty runs.

However, Linde is also using advancing networking and digitalization to increase operational safety. The "Linde Safety Guard", also on show for the first time, is an assistance system for warning people and avoiding collisions. Using radio signals in the four-gigahertz range, the system "sees" through walls, roller shutters and pallet loads to an accuracy of ten centimetres and warns truck operators and employees in the immediate vicinity of the truck to avoid dangerous situations. as
