Electric makes you agile
Jungheinrich has unveiled the ERC 216zi, a completely redeveloped electric pallet stacker. It is the shortest truck in its class thanks to its integrated lithium-ion battery, and the new Smartpilot steering concept is designed to ensure better agility in the warehouse.
The ERC 216zi has a permanently installed lithium-ion battery. Instead of the battery trough behind the mast, which was previously standard on such industrial trucks, the energy storage unit is installed centrally in the truck. With an L2 dimension of 1,245 millimetres, the ERC 216zi is at least 170 millimetres shorter than comparable trucks and is the most compact electric pallet truck on the market, according to Jungheinrich.
The permanently installed lithium-ion battery enables a new vehicle geometry, "a revolutionary vehicle design", says Chief Sales Officer Christian Erlach. "This makes the ERC 216zi ultra-compact and extremely maneuverable." Thanks to its new mast with FG profiles, the ERC 216zi also has a higher residual load capacity of at least 100 kilograms. The new mast retraction damping also ensures smooth mast transitions.
More comfort for the driver
Jungheinrich paid further attention to the ergonomics of the truck during development. A fixed platform provides the driver with support and comfort. This is an important advantage for the driver, especially during longer periods of use. The controls are arranged in such a way that they enable intuitive control of the truck. The revised Smartpilot electric tiller steering system enables precise and easy steering with one hand. A four-inch display flush-mounted in the instrument hood provides a clear overview. The new storage system also allows the operator to set up their workstation individually.
Protection from all sides
The DIN ISO 6055-compliant overhead guard protects against falling objects. The fixed standing platform with its fixed side walls also offers the driver perfect all-round protection from three sides. The Operationcontrol assistance system is used to prevent the residual load capacity from being exceeded. Visual and acoustic warning signals indicate to the driver whether the permissible residual load capacity range has been exceeded. The system enables simple and fast stacking at previously defined storage heights. This means that even inexperienced employees can store and retrieve goods quickly and safely. as
