Homepick from Vanderlande
Faster processing of food orders
Vanderlande launches Homepick on the market. The solution is based on the goods-to-person picking solution Adapto and enables efficient processing of online grocery orders.
As a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, the demand for online groceries has increased and a diversified group of consumers is now discovering such services. Shoppers want a wide selection of high-quality and fresh products with short delivery times and maximum convenience and service at competitive prices. At the same time, grocers are constantly faced with new competition entering the market.
In response, Vanderlande has created its latest evolution. Essentially, Homepick is based on a goods-to-person picking solution that utilizes Adapto, Vanderlande's automated storage/retrieval system (AS/RS) with 3D shuttle technology.
According to the company, this is an ideal solution for grocery retailers who want to achieve cost benefits thanks to centralized fulfillment centers (CFC). The uniform system design offers user-friendliness and, thanks to Adapto and the modular workstations, Homepick is also future-proof due to its scalability. The sequenced order flows ensure the correct order per delivery route and maximum delivery performance, resulting in significant time and cost savings.
According to Vanderlande, Homepick guarantees high picking efficiency, shorter lead times, greater accuracy, improved customer satisfaction and a high return on investment. The solution also supports an omnichannel approach and can seamlessly adapt to any desired growth strategy.
"The drive to automate has been accelerated by the Covid-19 pandemic as the demand for online groceries has increased and the heavy reliance on labor has become more apparent," explains Terry Verkuijlen, Executive Vice President Warehousing and Parcel at Vanderlande. "Many grocers are redefining their online grocery strategies. In such an environment, Homepick is the ideal choice to improve operational performance." as
