Explosion-proof forklift trucks for production and warehouses

Sherwin-Williams (legal entity Inver) from Dresden produces industrial coatings for various industries. In order to create a safe working environment, the company has purchased a fleet of Linde explosion-proof forklift trucks. The industrial trucks are designed for use in potentially explosive atmospheres. The switch to Linde was successfully implemented with the help of the Beutlhauser team from Dresden.

"Explosion protection solutions require a risk analysis and must be developed specifically for the customer," explains Beutlhauser sales consultant Rocco Hänsel. "This is where we score because we have our own explosion protection specialists with in-depth knowledge." The fleet consists of eight explosion-protected industrial trucks, including the first E25 of the new 1252-25 series, E20PL front loaders, R14HD reach trucks and L14 high-lift trucks, all of which are used in all production areas and in various warehouses at the site.

Explosion protection measures include safety-relevant equipment features and assistance systems. Red warning lines give pedestrians a visual signal to keep their distance from the truck. The BlueSpot, which projects a blue dot onto the ground to warn pedestrians and other forklift drivers of approaching hazards, is housed in a pressure-resistant casing. In addition, all electrical components such as the motor, control unit, sensors, switches and displays are protected by different types of ignition protection. The Beluga forks and brakes prevent the formation of mechanical sparks. Plastic components such as floor mats, tires, tanks and seat covers are protected against dangerous electrostatic charging.
