E-commerce: sorting system gets shoes on their way
Ferag is equipping the MyBox Logistics distribution center in Kielce, Poland, with a Denisort sorting line. It will sort 8,600 units - mainly shoes and fashion items - per hour.
The Polish Marketing Investment Group, which includes MyBox Logistics, wants to benefit more from the e-commerce boom in the future. It is also focusing on faster and better supply of its distribution network using modern technology. The goods distribution center on a greenfield site near Kielce, which is currently under construction and has a planned area of 23,000 square meters, is to be equipped with a 205-meter-long, fully automated Denisort system from Ferag.
Its layout provides for two parallel sorting sections with a total of 342 trays that can be tilted to both sides and 205 robust target chutes, plus two loading zones with eight workstations each. The goods are loaded manually. The chutes are made of laminated chipboard. This material enables gentle product handling and should ensure a long service life for the chutes.
The denisort technology developed by Ferag is designed for both simple and complex system layouts. The denisort line in Kielce can not only be expanded to meet the customer's requirements, which are expected to grow in the future, but can also be optimized at any time with an automatic feed system. This means that the system always offers the technical prerequisites for a further increase in efficiency. as
