Logimat 2020
Automated guided vehicle systems in cooperation
At LogiMAT, DS Automotion will be exhibiting two automated guided vehicles (AGVs) in close cooperation. Visitors can also expect an overview of the company's entire product range.
The Linz-based manufacturer is focusing on four user areas in particular: flexible assembly in the automotive industry, underride vehicles in intralogistics, goods transportation in hospitals and the broad field of agricultural applications.
Some devices can be seen in action at Logimat, such as the Amadeus driverless high-lift stacker with ToF camera for 3D object protection and the Oscar Omni underride vehicle with a chassis with four steered wheels. The two AGVs will work hand in hand on a transportation task, demonstrating the use of different vehicles within an AGV from DS Automotion.
"From mid-2020, the DS Navios guidance system will be available with the VDA 5050 interface, which allows driverless transport systems and control software to communicate with each other regardless of manufacturer," says Wolfgang Holl, Head of Technology and Development. "The revised software in the vehicle itself enables autonomous contour-based navigation, including consideration of obstacles."
The current cooperation with system integrator Identytec is also set to revolutionize the intralogistics processes of customers in the manufacturing industry. "To this end, the ordering system is connected to DS Automotion's AGV in order to eliminate all 'manual' ordering and delivery processes. The system recognizes whether there is a real need and then takes care of replenishment fully automatically," explains Wolfgang Hillinger, one of the Managing Directors at DS Automotion. The first joint projects are already being planned.
