Software revised
Designing and commissioning linear units
Item is expanding its intelligent Motiondesigner and Motionsoft software to include an additional application area. At SPS, the company will be demonstrating how the new generation of software supports users in the design and commissioning of mechanically synchronized linear units.
At SPS, Item will be focusing on new functions and application options for the Motiondesigner selection and design software. The intelligent program translates every transport task into an optimized overall solution. In addition to the previous applications with individual linear units and cantilever axes, synchronized linear units with toothed belt or chain drives can now also be configured. The software determines the appropriate combination of linear units and synchronous shaft, which enables several carriages to run in parallel. The user also receives complete project documentation and CAD data.
The Motionsoft commissioning software automatically determines the optimum controller settings; commissioning is completed in just a few minutes. Item will be demonstrating the interaction of synchronized linear axes with the automatic storage system at its stand. Visitors can carry out the entire process themselves - from selecting the right axis to commissioning.
Enclosure of machines and processes
With the modules from the XMS series, Item also offers a large portfolio for the optimal design of machine enclosures. Integrated cable ducts enable the separation of different process and supply levels. The intelligent cabling can be seen directly on the trade fair exhibit using a cut-away XMS profile. Further advantages of the machine cabins are their modular design and compatibility with other components from the MB Building Kit System. This means that individual requirements can be implemented.
Implementing digital engineering
Item has revised its engineering tool to make design and project planning processes even more efficient. The web-based program includes the complete 3D data of numerous components from the MB Building Kit System. Constructions can be built quickly using drag-and-drop and equipped with the appropriate connectors, cover caps or floor elements. By integrating additional components and features, the company creates further design variants, simplifies usability and shortens the design time. as
