Nortec 2020
Trade fair is very well received in the industry and digital economy
Nortec 2020 took place at a time when the mechanical and plant engineering industry in particular is undergoing radical structural change. The industry confidently presented its production and service offerings in Hamburg from January 21 to 24.
Around 430 exhibitors presented all stages along the value chain of modern production as well as the potential offered by digital technologies. The four-day industry event focused in particular on the needs of small and medium-sized companies.
Topics at the trade fair included artificial intelligence, additive manufacturing, robotics and automation. In addition to numerous exhibitors from the metal and plastics processing sectors, the fast-growing joint electronics manufacturing stand with over 50 companies demonstrated the entire range of technologies and services.
Around 10,000 visitors gathered information at the trade fair stands, in workshops, lectures, round tables and in one-to-one discussions. "In times of Industry 4.0 and ever shorter innovation cycles, the industry is called upon to recognize the opportunities of digitalization and to open up valuable perspectives for its success with new collaborations. Nortec is the ideal platform for this. We are delighted that our new format of trade fair and campus for SMEs has been so well received in the market," says Bernd Aufderheide, CEO of Hamburg Messe und Congress GmbH.
