Interoperability between systems
MPDV is a member of the Open Industry 4.0 Alliance
MPDV has been a member of the Open Industry 4.0 Alliance since the beginning of the year. The members of the alliance are committed to an open ecosystem and undertake to ensure interoperability between systems. This is to ensure that the members' solutions can communicate directly with each other.
"We are delighted to be part of this cooperation and to contribute our expertise to the work of the alliance. Together, we can continue to successfully advance the topic of Industry 4.0 and networking on the store floor in production halls," says Nathalie Kletti, Vice President Enterprise Development at MPDV.
If the 40 or so members of the Open Industry 4.0 Alliance have their way, at least 80 percent of the machines in a smart factory should speak the same language in future.
With the Manufacturing Integration Platform (MIP), the company itself has an open platform in its portfolio. The MIP is a link between the store floor, production-related IT applications and adjacent systems such as ERP. It serves as a central image of production and all associated processes.
"Through our membership of the Open Industry 4.0 Alliance, we ensure that our solutions can communicate directly with the systems of other providers. This allows us to achieve a whole new level of interoperability and create real added value for our customers. After all, processes can be significantly optimized through the standardization of interfaces," says Vice President Products Thorsten Strebel.
