Trust remains the key to AI success

A new Dynatrace study shows: German companies are increasingly relying on AI, but trust in automated decisions is limited. 69% of AI-based decisions are still reviewed by humans. Safety and efficiency are considered the most important goals when using AI.

Artificial intelligence (AI) is playing a growing role in German companies, but trust remains crucial. According to the "2025 State of Observability Report" by Dynatrace among 842 international IT managers, including 125 from Germany, 69% of AI-supported decisions are still subject to human control.

40% of German companies use so-called observability solutions to detect security gaps at an early stage, 39% to improve cloud security and 31% to improve the visibility of threats.

For 68% of respondents, cost reduction is the main focus of AI use, while 63% are critical of the resources used to train models. Observability allows data from telemetry, logs and security analyses to be linked in real time in order to detect anomalies and enable automated responses.

"Observability is moving away from reporting on the health of applications to supporting the decisions that drive the business," says Alois Reitbauer, Chief Technology Strategist at Dynatrace. "As more and more of these decisions are supported by AI, observability becomes key to unlocking the full potential of AI-powered decision making."

Worldwide, 70% of companies have increased their observability budgets in the past year and 75% are planning further investments. German companies are also following this trend in order to identify risks at an early stage and ensure the stability of their systems.
