Dassault Systèmes joins Industrial Digital Twin Association

Dassault Systèmes has joined the Industrial Digital Twin Association (IDTA). The IDTA is an initiative of VDMA, ZVEI, BITKOM and Plattform Industrie 4.0 and comprises 110 member companies that are jointly shaping the future of the digital twin.

As part of the development alliance, Dassault Systèmes will now contribute its expertise in the field of virtual twin technology to promote innovation and drive forward new developments and research projects. There are also plans to simplify the exchange of information in the industry by means of cross-industry standards.

Overcoming industry challenges together

By joining the IDTA, Dassault Systèmes is taking another significant step to actively contribute to the evolution of the digital industrial landscape. The 3DExperience platform and proprietary solutions will be used within the Asset Administration Shell (AAS) designed by IDTA, a management shell that characterizes and standardizes the features and behaviors of a virtual object. This should, for example, increase the efficiency and flexibility of individual production steps, optimize virtual value chains and create new business models.

Together, the members of the alliance will ultimately address industry challenges against the backdrop of increasing industrial networking and decentralization. Among other things, the aim is to realize end-to-end data management along product lifecycles with the help of virtual twins, as well as to promote improved interoperability and the standardization of interfaces.

Technical expertise as a catalyst for innovation

With its many years of experience, in-depth market knowledge and extensive technical expertise in virtual twin technology, Dassault Systèmes will actively meet these challenges as part of the IDTA in order to better meet industrial needs in the future. In close cooperation with the other member companies, existing solutions will be optimized in line with the market and new industry standards will be developed.

The company also intends to contribute to the promotion of future-oriented industrial practices in terms of sustainability and flexible manufacturing, while at the same time strengthening the innovative power of the industry. As a driver of innovation and market leader in virtual twin technology, Dassault Systèmes will continue to act as a reliable partner for digital transformation and development.

IDTA's Asset Administration Shell (AAS) - which supports standards-compliant data exchange in production - will be part of the showcase that Dassault Systèmes will be presenting at this year's Hannover Messe from April 22 to 26.
