New sales and service unit in Gurugram
Yamaha Motor expands robotics business in India
Yamaha Motor has opened the Robotics Business Support Division in Gurugram, Haryana, India, as a new sales and service facility for its robotics business. The unit has been established within Yamaha Motor India Sales Pvt. Ltd (YMIS), which has been primarily responsible for sales of motorcycles and other Yamaha products in India.
Growing market for manufacturing and robotics in India
The move comes against the backdrop of an Indian manufacturing sector that has seen significant growth and increasing technical differentiation in recent years and is likely to expand further. The robotics market in India is also showing dynamic development and strong growth.
In this environment, Yamaha Motor continues to see considerable potential for expanding its own brand awareness in the robotics business and scaling its activities in the Indian market.
New organization to strengthen sales and service
With the establishment of the Robotics Business Support Division, the company aims to expand its sales and service activities for Yamaha-branded robotic products in India, streamline internal business processes and drive additional investments.
The new unit is organizationally anchored within the Indian sales company YMIS and will act as a central interface for the robotics sector in the country.
Initial focus on SMT systems and industrial robots
Initially, the division will provide support for SMT1 Assembly Systems and industrial robots. In a further step, the organizational and technical structures for handling semiconductor back-end processing equipment will be established.
Yamaha Motor is thus gradually expanding its portfolio in the Indian market along industrial manufacturing and semiconductor processes.
Showroom for robotics technologies on site
Part of the new facility is a showroom in which the company's latest robotics technologies are presented. In addition to the sales and service function, this area will enable customers to experience products and solutions first-hand.
This should give users a more concrete picture of how the systems are used in production environments. The aim is to make realistic application scenarios in production facilities easier to understand.
Goal: Increase productivity in production
With the new location, Yamaha Motor is pursuing the goal of supporting customers in solving technical production challenges and at the same time increasing productivity in their manufacturing processes.
