PTS, Kassow Robots, Bosch Rexroth and Tenta Vision: Inspection system
For the Drive Technology and Automation category, a test system from Tenta Vision was created as a team effort: Equipped with Rexroth aluminum profiles, a lightweight robot from Kassow Robots and connecting parts from the PTS Group, the test system opens up a wide range of possible applications.
A new inspection system from Tenta Vision, based on a patented optical interferometric measuring device, detects defects in lightweight components in real time. The company wants to make these material and component inspections as easy as possible for customers and relies on components from Bosch Rexroth, Kassow Robots and the PTS Group.
The compact system detects internal and external defects in lightweight components without contact and in real time. It consists of an excitation and a control unit, a computer and intelligent automation software and is quickly ready for use. Possible areas of application range from automotive engineering to aerospace, energy storage technology and many other industries. The technology is used to test a wide range of lightweight materials and components.
A seven-axis lightweight robot from Kassow Robots moves the measuring device to the desired position; Bosch Rexroth acquired a majority stake in the Danish company in 2022. PTS supplies the robust base frame, consisting of Rexroth aluminum profiles, which was designed to fit through 90-centimeter-wide doors. PTS used a 3D printer to produce the connecting parts from high-quality Onyx filament material, a durable PA6 with micro-carbon fibers that is 1.4 times stiffer than ABS thermoplastics and offers high surface quality and heat tolerance.
