Alexander Tan is Kuka's new Chief Financial Officer
At an extraordinary meeting, the Kuka Supervisory Board appointed Alexander Tan as a member of the Executive Board. On July 1, 2021, he will assume the position of Chief Financial Officer of Kuka Aktiengesellschaft.
"With his many years of international experience in finance, Alexander Tan has the right qualifications for a global company like Kuka. We look forward to a successful collaboration. We would also like to thank Andreas Pabst for his commitment and outstanding work and look forward to continuing our collaboration," said Dr. Andy Gu, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Kuka AG.
Alexander Tan (50) grew up in the Netherlands and has held various management positions in finance during his career, both in Europe and Asia. He worked for Philips for 14 years, including as CFO in the Automotive Lighting Division. From 2016 to 2018, Tan worked for the Chinese Midea Group as Deputy CFO, most recently as CFO for the Singapore-based supply chain solutions provider GoodPack. As he was already a member of the Kuka Group's Supervisory Board until the end of 2019, he is familiar with the company.
Tan, a Dutch national, succeeds former CFO Andreas Pabst, who will move to Midea's Robotics and Automation division, one of Midea's five divisions, as CFO in July. The Midea Group has been Kuka's main shareholder for four years.
In addition, the Supervisory Board of Kuka Aktiengesellschaft had already decided in May to appoint CEO Peter Mohnen as Chairman of the Executive Board until summer 2024 ahead of schedule. "Kuka has made a good start to 2021 and is on course for growth. I look forward to continuing this course together with Alexander Tan and leading Kuka into a successful future," said Peter Mohnen, CEO of Kuka AG.
