Omron integrates compact machines into the IoT
Omron has launched a new all-in-one CP2E series controller with integrated I/O connections, communication functions and machine axis control, which now offers new control technologies and IoT connectivity for compact machines.
Manufacturers need to continuously optimize processes from the commissioning of a machine to its operation and maintenance. The performance of connected machines can be visualized through simple programming, which supports productivity and quality in production and other industries. According to the company, the new CP2E series is a cost-effective way of integrating compact machines into the Internet of Things (IoT). It collects machine performance data and shares the required information with the host network. Thanks to predefined program data in the form of a function block, less development work is required and quality is improved through standardization. This significantly simplifies the setup of machines that perform complex control tasks. The time required for programming, testing, debugging and maintenance is also reduced.
