Artificial intelligence requires high computing power. Many companies use the cloud for this. Moxa now enables artificial intelligence at the edge: The MC-1220 series edge computers are based on an Intel Celeron or Intel Core i3/i5/i7 processor and have various interfaces, including one HDMI, three USB 3.0, two Gigabit LAN and two wireless expansion slots for Wi-Fi and LTE with four SIM slots. They support up to 32 GB RAM. Windows 10 IoT 2019 and Linux Debian 9 are available as operating systems.

The edge computers measure 134 mm x 60.4 mm x 120 mm and can be mounted on a DIN rail. They operate in an extended temperature range of -40 to +70 °C. They have been specially developed for harsh environments: They have a fanless metal housing and are certified for C1D2, ATEX and IECEx Zone 2.
